The Police reunion tour will make one more trip through North America this summer before the band calls it quits again. As opposed to last year, the group will stick to amphitheaters and arenas without any any stadium or festival stops during the thirty-odd date trek in May and July (with a fifteen date run in Europe sandwiched into June). Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page announced at a press conference early this morning in Tokyo that if the band were to reunite for a large-scale tour, it wouldn’t happen until at least September. Page, who was in Japan promoting Mothership, cited previous commitments, most notably Robert Plant’s joint tour with Alison Krauss, as the main stalling point, saying, “Robert Plant also had a parallel project running and he’s really busy with that project, certainly until September, so I can’t give you any news.” (READ MORE)

Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones' small bombshell in the current issue of Rolling Stone — "There is a band meeting in January" — will be more than enough to set off new tremors of hope among fans for a full-fledged tour following the group's December 10th reunion performance at the O2 arena in London.
